French and Breton dance is a mixture or lively circle and set dances such as Bourées and An Dros and more romantic couple dances such as Mazurkas, Waltzes and Schottiches.
The music for the dancing ranges from the hypnotic to the raucous with beautiful and unusual melodies that will leave you gasping!
Poisson Rouge has an additional member, Carrie Atkinson. She leads workshops in Breton and French traditional dance and can teach & lead the dances at a Bal or Fest Noz when required.
On the third Friday of each month (September to June), Poisson Rouge play for d’Accord, a Breton Dance club that meets in the Memorial Hall, Ide, Nr. Exeter. Sessions start with a beginner’s half-hour at 7.15. Contact the club through its website.
Poisson Rouge also plays for Bal Folk on the first Friday of each month. Palstone Park Recreation Hall, South Brent, Devon, TQ10 9JP
